What counts as clinical skincare?
A clinic facial looks familiar — cleansing, masks, a calm room — but it differs from a spa treatment in two ways. First, a doctor assesses the skin before anything is applied, so a breakout, rosacea flare or sensitive barrier is recognised and treated accordingly. Second, clinic treatments can use stronger peels, medical extraction and devices such as LDM ultrasound that are not available in a salon.
Our skincare category also includes minor procedures that sit naturally alongside facials: removing moles, skin tags and milia, and absorbable thread treatments for subtle lift. They need a doctor, but not a long recovery.
People usually come to this part of our menu when they want:
- Clearer pores, fewer blackheads and calmer acne-prone skin
- A brighter, smoother surface before an event or after a flight
- Gentle recovery care after lasers or injections
- Small spots, moles or bumps removed during a short trip
- A first visit that starts with a proper skin analysis
What changes with clinical skincare
Hydrating facials give a fresher look the same day, while acne care and peels work over a series of visits. For deeper texture or scarring, skincare is usually a foundation for device or injectable treatments such as Potenza.
How a skincare visit works
- Doctor assessment The doctor checks oiliness, congestion, sensitivity and any active acne, then suggests one treatment or a short series.
- Preparation Makeup is removed and the skin cleansed; numbing is applied only for procedures such as mole removal.
- Treatment A facial, peel, extraction, LDM or procedure, usually 15–60 minutes.
- Calming & SPF A soothing mask or LDM where suitable, then sunscreen and aftercare advice.
Facials combine well with other treatments. A Hydrafacial before a wedding, or an LDM session after laser, is a common pairing — the doctor will set the order so each step supports the next.
Downtime, side effects and who should tell the doctor
- Common: short-lived redness, mild tingling during peels, and small marks after extractions that fade within a day or two.
- Less common: a few new breakouts in the week after a deep cleanse (purging), dryness or flaking after peels, or temporary darkening of marks in darker skin types.
- Rare: irritation or allergic reaction to a product, infection after extraction or mole removal, or scarring after a procedure.
Tell the doctor first if
You are pregnant or breastfeeding (some peels and procedures are postponed), use isotretinoin, retinoids or exfoliating acids, have had a laser or peel recently, have active cold sores, eczema or rosacea, or have allergies to skincare ingredients or local anaesthetic.
Aftercare
Keep skincare simple for 24–48 hours, avoid saunas and scrubs, and use SPF daily — especially after peels.
Dr. Jimin Kang, Medical Director
Every skincare plan at Bailor starts with a face-to-face skin assessment by a doctor — not a sales counsellor. Skincare FAQ
How much do clinic facials cost in Gangnam?
At Bailor Clinic in Sinsa, Aqua Peel starts at ₩50,000, LDM Triple at ₩100,000 and the Acne Facial at ₩180,000, VAT excluded. See the facial price list.
How is a clinic facial different from a spa facial?
A doctor assesses your skin first, and the clinic can use medical extraction, stronger peels and devices like LDM. Treatment is adjusted if your skin is inflamed or sensitive.
Which facial is best for acne-prone skin?
For active breakouts, an acne facial or acne extraction session is usually the starting point, sometimes combined with CAPRI laser. The doctor decides after seeing your skin.
Is there downtime after a facial?
Most facials have none; you may be slightly pink for an hour or two. Peels can cause dryness or flaking for a few days.
Can I remove a mole during a short trip?
Often yes. Small moles, skin tags and milia are usually removed in one short visit, though the doctor first checks that the mole looks harmless.
