What is exosome therapy?
Exosomes are nano-sized vesicles that cells release to communicate with each other. They carry proteins, growth factors and genetic messengers. Cosmetic exosome products are made from cultured cells — for example, plant or stem-cell cultures — and are formulated to be delivered into the skin.
The idea is that these signals encourage the skin's own repair processes: calming inflammation, supporting the barrier and helping skin recover after stress. Early research and clinical experience are encouraging, but the science is younger than for hyaluronic acid or PDRN, so we describe exosomes honestly as a supportive treatment rather than a dramatic one.
Patients usually ask about exosomes for:
- Sensitive, easily irritated skin with a weak barrier
- Redness and uneven tone after acne has calmed down
- Faster, more comfortable recovery after lasers or Potenza RF microneedling
- Dull, stressed skin that needs a gentle reset
When exosome therapy makes sense — and when it doesn't
We rarely use exosomes as the only answer for deep wrinkles, sagging or significant scarring — those need collagen-building or lifting treatments. Where exosomes shine is as a calming, recovery-focused step. These are the forms we offer:

For active breakouts, we usually start with CAPRI laser and add exosomes for recovery. For thin, fragile skin, Rejuran Healer may do more, and the two are sometimes alternated.

What exosome therapy changes
Most people notice skin feeling calmer and more comfortable within days, with a more even tone building over 2–4 weeks and a course of sessions. How an exosome session works
- Doctor consultation We assess redness, sensitivity and barrier, and decide whether exosomes fit alone or after a laser.
- Prep & numbing Gentle cleanse; numbing cream for about 30 minutes if microneedling is planned.
- Delivery MTS, injector or post-laser application across the face, about 20–40 minutes.
- Calming care Soothing mask and sun protection; aftercare written in English.
Because downtime is short, exosome therapy is easy to fit into a trip — many visitors book it the day after a stronger treatment so their skin settles before they fly home.
Side effects, safety and aftercare
Exosome therapy is one of the gentler treatments we offer, but needling and injection still carry risks:
- Common: redness and warmth for a few hours to a day, mild tightness, and pinpoint marks for 1–3 days when microneedling is used.
- Less common: small bruises, temporary dryness or flaking, or a short-lived breakout.
- Rare: infection, allergic or irritant reaction to ingredients in the solution.
Talk to the doctor first if you
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Have a history of skin allergies or reactions to cosmetic products
- Have active infection, cold sores or eczema flares in the area
- Take isotretinoin or blood-thinning medication
Avoid makeup for 24 hours, use a gentle cleanser and moisturiser, apply sunscreen daily and pause retinoids and exfoliating acids for several days.

Are exosomes the same as stem cells?
No. Exosomes are vesicles released by cells, not cells themselves. Cosmetic exosome products contain no living cells.
Is there downtime?
Very little. Expect redness for a few hours to a day, or 1–3 days of pinpoint marks if microneedling is used.
Can exosomes be combined with laser?
Yes. Exosomes are often applied right after laser or RF microneedling to support recovery. The doctor will advise the right order.
How many exosome sessions do I need?
Three to five sessions about 2–4 weeks apart is common, depending on your skin and goals.
Is the evidence for exosomes strong?
It is promising but still developing. We use exosomes as a supportive, low-downtime option and explain alternatives with stronger evidence during the consultation.
