What is Xeomin, and how is it different?
All wrinkle toxins share the same active molecule: botulinum toxin type A, which temporarily blocks the nerve signal that tells a muscle to contract. What differs between brands is what surrounds that molecule. Most toxins carry "complexing" proteins from the manufacturing process. Xeomin is filtered so that only the active toxin remains — which is why it is sometimes called a "naked" or pure toxin.
Why that can matter:
- Resistance: with repeated, frequent treatments, a small number of people develop antibodies and notice toxin wearing off faster. Fewer foreign proteins may lower that chance, though no brand can rule it out.
- Storage: Xeomin can be kept at room temperature before use, which makes it a stable product to handle.
- Feel of the result: in everyday practice, results are similar to other brands at matched doses — the difference is in purity, not in how "strong" it looks.
If you are new to toxin, a Korean toxin or Coretox may be perfectly suitable; see our Botox overview for how the brands compare.

What changes after Xeomin
With Xeomin, lines soften gradually over the first two weeks rather than overnight. Expressions stay — the creases just stop folding as deeply. Regular users often notice their result stays more consistent over time; if lines are deep even at rest, the doctor may add a small amount of filler or a booster.
How a Xeomin visit works
- Toxin history We ask which brands you've had, how often, and whether results have felt shorter lately.
- Muscle check The doctor watches your expressions and marks points and units for each area.
- Injection 10–20 minutes with an ultra-fine needle; ice or numbing cream if you like.
- 2-week review Check the result and retouch eligible wrinkle areas within 4 weeks.
Many visitors pair Xeomin with a skin booster for lines that are still visible at rest. Toxin softens the movement; the booster improves the skin over it.
Side effects, cautions and aftercare
- Common: small bumps or redness at injection points for under an hour, a pinpoint bruise, or a mild headache the first day.
- Less common: a heavy brow, slightly uneven eyebrows or smile, or chewing fatigue after jaw treatment — usually adjusted at review or settling within weeks.
- Rare: temporary eyelid droop, difficulty swallowing after neck treatment, or allergic reaction.
Not suitable, or tell the doctor first, if you
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Have a neuromuscular condition (such as myasthenia gravis) or a known allergy to botulinum toxin
- Take certain antibiotics (e.g. aminoglycosides), blood thinners or muscle relaxants
- Have an infection or inflammation at the treatment site
Aftercare
Stay upright for about 4 hours, avoid pressing or massaging the area, and skip saunas, alcohol and hard workouts for 24 hours. Makeup is fine after a few hours.

Xeomin FAQ
How much is Xeomin in Gangnam?
At Bailor Clinic in Sinsa, Xeomin for one wrinkle area is ₩60,000 and special areas ₩70,000, with masseter 50U at ₩150,000 (VAT excluded). See the Xeomin price list.
Is Xeomin better than Botox?
It isn't stronger — results are similar at matched doses. Its advantage is purity: fewer extra proteins, which may lower the chance of resistance for people treated often.
Who should choose Xeomin?
People who have toxin several times a year, those treating large areas like the jaw or body, and anyone who feels a previous brand has stopped working as well. First-timers can usually start with any brand.
How long does Xeomin last?
Wrinkle results usually last about 3–4 months. Jaw slimming can last longer, especially after repeated sessions.
Can I switch from another brand to Xeomin?
Yes. Tell the doctor which brand and dose you had and when, so units can be planned for a similar effect.
Is the consultation in English?
