Who this acne facial is for
Acne does not always stop after the teenage years. Many adults — particularly women in their twenties to forties — get inflamed spots along the jawline, chin and neck that come and go with stress, hormonal changes, sleep, skincare or masks. Adult skin is also often drier and more sensitive than teenage skin, so harsh drying routines can make things worse.
This facial is designed for active breakouts: blackheads and whiteheads, red papules and pustules, and the occasional deep, painful spot. It is a treatment to calm and clear what is happening now. If your main concern is marks or pitted scars left behind, see acne scar treatment instead.
It may suit you if you have:
- Regular breakouts on the lower face, often before your period or in stressful weeks
- Clogged pores that keep turning into inflamed spots
- A painful cyst you want to settle before an event or flight
- Sensitive skin that reacts badly to strong home acne products
For mainly blackheads with little inflammation, a dedicated acne extraction session may be enough. Our separate acne facials page compares the full range of acne facial programmes.
What happens at each step
1. Doctor check
The doctor looks at the type of spots, where they cluster and how inflamed they are, and asks about medication, contraception, cycle-related flares and your skincare. This is where we decide whether extraction is safe today and whether an injection or laser is useful.
2. Cleansing and softening
Makeup and sunscreen are removed, then the skin is cleansed and softened with steam or a mild exfoliating solution so that blocked pores open more easily and need less pressure.
3. Sterile extraction
Blackheads, whiteheads and pustules that are ready are cleared with sterile tools. Deep, closed cysts are not squeezed, because that can push inflammation deeper and increase the risk of scarring.
4. Anti-inflammatory injection (if needed)
A painful, swollen spot can receive a small anti-inflammatory injection, which often helps it settle within a few days.
5. Blue light and calming
Blue-light (Astrodome) therapy targets acne-related bacteria and a calming modelling pack reduces redness. The session finishes with a light moisturiser and SPF.

What changes after an acne facial
Skin usually feels cleaner and looks calmer within a few days, and painful spots settle faster after treatment. Lasting control comes from a series of sessions plus home care. Once breakouts are under control, remaining marks can be addressed with options such as Potenza.
Your visit in brief
- Assessment About 5–10 minutes with the doctor to grade your acne and agree the plan.
- Cleanse & extract Softening, then sterile extraction of ready spots — about 20 minutes.
- Calm Injection for painful spots if needed, then blue light and a soothing pack.
- Home plan Advice on cleanser, moisturiser and SPF, and when to return.
If you are visiting Seoul, book the facial at least a day or two before important photos so any redness has settled. For persistent oily, breakout-prone skin, the doctor may suggest adding CAPRI laser on later visits.
Downtime, side effects and when to tell the doctor
- Common: redness and small marks at extraction sites for a few hours to 1–2 days, and mild tenderness.
- Less common: a few new spots in the following week as congestion surfaces, temporary dryness, or darker marks in skin prone to pigmentation.
- Rare: infection, a local dent or lightening of skin after an injection into a spot, or an allergic reaction to a product.
Tell the doctor first if
You are pregnant or breastfeeding, take isotretinoin, oral antibiotics or hormonal treatment, use prescription retinoids or acids, have cold sores, or have allergies. Sudden severe acne in adulthood, especially with irregular periods or excess hair growth, can have a hormonal cause; the doctor may advise seeing a specialist as well.
Aftercare
Do not pick or squeeze for at least a week, avoid heavy makeup for 24 hours, keep your routine gentle and use non-comedogenic SPF every day.

Adult acne facial FAQ
How much does an acne facial cost in Gangnam?
At Bailor Clinic in Sinsa, Acne Spa Level 1 (extraction + anti-inflammatory injection) is ₩85,000, Level 2 is ₩135,000 and the Acne Facial is ₩180,000, VAT excluded. See the acne treatment price list.
Why do adults get acne on the jaw and chin?
Adult breakouts in this area are often linked to hormones, stress, sleep, skincare or friction from masks and phones. The doctor will ask about these to tailor your plan.
Will my skin look worse after an acne facial?
You may be pink with small marks for a few hours to a day or two, and some people get a few new spots in the first week. This usually settles as treatment continues.
How often should I have an acne facial?
While breakouts are active, every 2–4 weeks is common. As skin calms, sessions can be spaced further apart.
Can I have an acne facial while taking isotretinoin?
Tell the doctor. Extraction and some steps may need to be adjusted or postponed while on isotretinoin, because the skin heals more slowly.
Do you treat acne scars in the same session?
This facial focuses on active breakouts. Scars are usually treated once acne is under control, with options such as RF microneedling or scar filler.
