What is LDM treatment?
LDM stands for Local Dynamic Micro-massage. It is a device-based treatment that sends low-intensity ultrasound into the skin while switching between different frequencies. Unlike lifting ultrasound devices such as Ultherapy, LDM does not create heat points or aim to tighten tissue. Its job is gentler: a vibration-like micro-massage that many patients find calming.
LDM is often chosen for:
- Redness, heat and sensitivity, including skin that reacts easily to products
- Dehydrated, tight-feeling skin after flights or a change of climate
- Recovery after lasers, peels, skin boosters or microneedling
- Swelling-prone skin before an event, where no downtime is acceptable
LDM is a supportive treatment. It does not replace medical care for conditions such as rosacea or eczema, and its effects are subtle and cumulative rather than dramatic.
LDM on its own, or as an add-on
Because it is gentle and has no downtime, LDM fits into many plans. These are the ways it is most often used at Bailor:
| Use | Why patients choose it | Price |
|---|---|---|
| LDM Triple (12 min) | Standalone calming and hydration session | ₩100,000 |
| LDM aftercare add-on | Added after lasers or injections the same day | ₩100,000 |
| Rejuran Healer/HB 6cc + Rejuran I 2cc + LDM | Full-face repair booster with calming aftercare | ₩950,000 |

For redness, LDM pairs well with a lighter laser such as Excel V or a calming facial. For booster programmes, it is commonly added straight after Rejuran Healer to help the skin feel settled before you leave the clinic.
What changes after LDM
Most people notice that the skin feels calmer and more comfortable on the same day. With repeated weekly sessions, redness and sensitivity may settle further. For persistent redness and visible capillaries, LDM works best alongside targeted treatments planned during a skin analysis.
How an LDM session works
- Doctor check A doctor reviews your skin and decides whether LDM alone or as an add-on makes sense.
- Cleansing Makeup is removed and a conductive gel is applied.
- Ultrasound care The handpiece glides over the face for about 12 minutes; most people find it relaxing.
- Finish Gel is removed, soothing products and sunscreen applied; makeup is fine right away.
LDM is easy to fit into a busy itinerary in Seoul. If you are flying soon after a laser or booster, adding LDM on the same day is a gentle way to support the skin's recovery without adding any downtime of its own.
LDM compared with other gentle treatments
Patients sometimes ask how LDM differs from a facial or an LED session. A facial works mainly on the surface — cleansing, exfoliating and hydrating with products. LED uses light. LDM uses sound waves that pass into the skin as a soft micro-vibration, which is why it is often chosen when the skin is too reactive for exfoliation or extractions. Because each works differently, they can be combined in one visit; the doctor will suggest what your skin will tolerate on the day.
Downtime, side effects and aftercare
LDM is one of the gentlest treatments we offer, but it is still a device and some caution applies.
- Common: mild warmth or a light pink flush for up to an hour; a pleasant tingling or vibration during the session.
- Less common: brief itching or stinging in very reactive or freshly treated skin; a reaction to the conductive gel.
- Rare: irritation that lasts more than a day; tell us if your skin reacts to many products.
Who should wait or tell the doctor first
Tell the doctor if you are pregnant, have a pacemaker or other electronic implant, metal implants in the face, active skin infection or open wounds, or a history of reactions to ultrasound gel. Recent fillers or threads are not usually a problem, but let us know so the area can be handled appropriately.
Aftercare
No special aftercare is needed. Use a gentle cleanser, moisturiser and sunscreen, and avoid very hot showers, saunas or alcohol the same day if your skin is prone to flushing.
Dr. Jimin Kang, Medical Director
Every LDM plan at Bailor starts with a face-to-face skin assessment by a doctor — not a sales counsellor. Dr. Kang's approach is "tailored, not templated": she chooses the product, dose and depth for your skin, and treats you herself or works alongside the other doctors on our in-house medical team.

At Bailor Clinic in Sinsa, LDM Triple (12 minutes) is ₩100,000 and LDM as an aftercare add-on is ₩100,000, VAT excluded. See the LDM price page.
Is LDM the same as HIFU or Ultherapy?
No. LDM uses low-intensity ultrasound for soothing and recovery. HIFU and Ultherapy use focused ultrasound energy to heat deeper layers for lifting.
Does LDM hurt?
No. Most people feel only mild warmth or vibration. No numbing is needed.
How often should I have LDM?
For calming or hydration goals, weekly sessions are common for a few weeks. As aftercare, it is usually done once on the same day as a laser or injection.
