What is a skin analysis?
A skin analysis is a structured look at your skin by a doctor before choosing any treatment. Many visitors arrive with a list of procedures they have seen online. Some fit their skin well; others would not address the real concern, or would be the wrong order. The analysis is where we sort that out.
During the assessment the doctor looks at:
- Pigment — freckles, sun spots, melasma-like patches and post-acne marks
- Redness — flushing, visible capillaries and sensitivity
- Pores and texture — oiliness, enlarged pores, roughness and scars
- Lines and laxity — fine lines, folds and early sagging
- Spots and growths — moles, milia, skin tags and warts that need a closer look
Our name says it: Bailor comes from Beauty + Tailor. The analysis is where tailoring happens. If something looks like it needs a medical diagnosis rather than an aesthetic treatment, we tell you directly.
From findings to a plan
The doctor translates what they see into a short, prioritised plan. These are some of the most common findings and the treatments they often lead to at Bailor:
| Finding | Often considered | From |
|---|---|---|
| Dullness, uneven tone | Laser toning | β©120,000 |
| Dehydration, fine crepey lines | Skin boosters | β©150,000 |
| Enlarged pores, scars, texture | Potenza | β©200,000 |
| Congestion, active breakouts | Acne facials | β©85,000 |
| Small moles, milia, tags | Mole removal | β©10,000 |
| Early laxity | Ultherapy | β©500,000 |

Not every concern needs a procedure. Sometimes the most useful outcome is a simpler routine, better sun protection or a single gentle treatment such as a Korean facial — and that will be part of the plan too.
Why the order matters
Some treatments work better, or more safely, in sequence. Active breakouts are usually calmed before resurfacing; strong pigment is often treated gently first so lasers do not trigger rebound darkening; and lifting devices are commonly scheduled before boosters or threads. The doctor will map this out across one visit or several, depending on how often you can come to Seoul.
What a tailored plan aims for
The goal is not a single dramatic change but steady, realistic improvement in the things that matter most to you — tone, texture, clarity or firmness. A plan that starts with the right priority usually needs fewer sessions overall. If you have spots you are unsure about, we also check them and may suggest mole removal or a referral.
How a skin analysis visit works
- Questions first Your goals, skin history, routine, medications, allergies and how long you are in Seoul.
- Close examination The doctor looks at cleansed skin under good light and magnification.
- Plan & priorities We explain what we see, what to treat first and what can wait.
- Clear quote You get options with prices and timing, and decide with no pressure.
If you are travelling, send photos and dates on WhatsApp before you arrive. We can then reserve enough time for the analysis and, if you choose, a first treatment on the same day. Learn more about our doctor consultation and what to expect as a foreign patient.
Safety and what to tell the doctor
The analysis itself is non-invasive, so there is very little risk. It is still the most important safety step for whatever comes next.
- Common: nothing beyond brief mild redness from cleansing in sensitive skin.
- Less common: stinging or irritation from a cleanser if your skin barrier is already damaged — tell us if your skin is reactive.
- Rare: an allergic reaction to a product used during the visit; please list any known allergies.
Tell the doctor about
- Pregnancy, breastfeeding or planning pregnancy
- Isotretinoin, retinoids, blood thinners, photosensitising medicines or recent antibiotics
- Allergies (including anaesthetics, fish/salmon products and latex)
- History of cold sores, keloids, pigment after injury, or autoimmune conditions
- Recent lasers, peels, fillers or threads, at home or abroad

Dr. Jimin Kang, Medical Director
Every skin analysis plan at Bailor starts with a face-to-face skin assessment by a doctor — not a sales counsellor. Dr. Kang's approach is "tailored, not templated": she chooses the product, dose and depth for your skin, and treats you herself or works alongside the other doctors on our in-house medical team.
Skin analysis FAQ
How much does a skin analysis cost at Bailor?
The price is confirmed after consultation and depends on whether you go on to treatment the same day. You always receive a clear quote for any recommended treatment before deciding. See our full price list.
Do I have to book a treatment after the analysis?
No. You can take the plan home and decide later. Many visitors book the first treatment the same day for convenience, but there is no obligation.
Who does the analysis?
A doctor, not a sales counsellor. Our Medical Director, Dr. Jimin Kang, and the other doctors on our team carry out skin assessments.
Can you check moles during the analysis?
Yes. The doctor will look at spots you are concerned about. Any mole with unusual features is recommended for biopsy or referral rather than laser removal.
Should I come without makeup?
It helps, but it is not required. We can cleanse your skin at the clinic before the examination.
Is the consultation in English?
Yes. You can also send photos and questions in advance on WhatsApp at +82 10-3054-1757.
