What is Secret RF microneedling?
Classic microneedling relies on tiny punctures to trigger healing. RF microneedling adds a second step: once the needles reach the chosen depth, they release radiofrequency energy, heating small zones of the dermis. The heat tightens existing collagen and prompts the skin to build new collagen and elastin over the following weeks.
Because the energy is released below the surface, the outer skin receives less heat than with many surface lasers. This makes RF microneedling a common choice for people with darker or pigment-prone skin who still want texture improvement. Depth can be adjusted area by area, so thin skin under the eyes and thicker skin on the cheeks can be treated differently in the same session.

How it differs from a laser
A fractional laser such as in laser resurfacing works from the surface downwards and is strong on surface texture and tone. RF microneedling works from inside the dermis and is often preferred for pores, deeper scarring and pigment-prone skin. Many scar plans use both, alongside Potenza booster delivery or subcision for tethered scars.
What changes in your skin
Skin often looks slightly firmer within a week, but the main change comes as collagen remodels over 1–3 months after each session. Pores and scars usually look softer rather than gone. For pores linked to oiliness, the doctor may also suggest care from our enlarged pores plan.
How a Secret RF visit works
- Doctor consultation We assess pores, scar types and skin laxity, then set needle depth and energy by area.
- Numbing Numbing cream for 40–60 minutes so the needling feels like pressure and warmth.
- RF microneedling Usually 20–40 minutes, passing over the face in a planned grid.
- Calming care Cooling and a soothing mask; a booster can be applied afterwards if planned.

Downtime, side effects and aftercare
RF microneedling is well established, but needles and heat mean real recovery. What to expect:
- Common: redness, warmth and mild swelling for 1–3 days; tiny dot or grid marks; a dry, slightly rough feel for a few days.
- Less common: pinpoint bruising, small breakouts, and temporary darker patches in pigment-prone skin.
- Rare: infection, burns, prolonged grid marks, or scarring.
Tell the doctor first if you
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Have a pacemaker or other implanted electronic device, or metal implants in the area
- Took isotretinoin recently, or use blood thinners or retinoids
- Have cold sores, active acne infection, a history of keloids, or a gold thread or filler in the treatment area
Aftercare
Skip makeup for 24 hours, avoid saunas, swimming and hard exercise for 2–3 days, and pause retinoids and acids for about a week. Use gentle moisturiser and daily SPF. If anything looks unusual, send us a photo on WhatsApp for a doctor's review.

How many sessions do I need?
Most people have 3–4 sessions about 4 weeks apart. Deeper acne scars may need more, often combined with other scar treatments.
Is RF microneedling safe for darker skin?
It is often chosen for darker or pigment-prone skin because most heat is delivered below the surface. There is still some risk of temporary pigmentation, so conservative settings and sun protection matter.
Does it hurt?
With numbing cream most people feel pressure, prickling and warmth. Bony areas such as the forehead and jawline can feel more intense.
Can I combine it with skin boosters?
Yes, this is common. Boosters such as Rejuran or exosomes can be applied after needling to support recovery; the doctor will advise on timing.
When will I see results?
