What is Body ONDA?
ONDA is a device that uses microwave energy — branded Coolwaves — rather than laser light or ultrasound. Microwaves at this frequency are absorbed mainly in the fat layer under the skin. As the fat tissue heats, fat cells are damaged and gradually cleared by the body, while the surrounding connective tissue contracts, which can help the skin look tighter.
A cooling system in the handpiece keeps the skin surface comfortable, and the doctor moves the handpiece continuously over the planned zone. The body version uses the same principle as our facial Onda lifting, with higher total energy for larger areas.
Body ONDA is usually considered for:
- Stubborn lower-belly or flank fat that remains despite diet and exercise
- Softness and loose skin on the inner or back of the upper arms
- Inner and outer thighs, or a bra-line roll on the back
- Mild skin laxity after weight loss or pregnancy
It is not a weight-loss treatment. It suits people near a stable weight who want to reshape specific areas. For small pockets on the face or under the chin, fat loss injections may be more practical.
Before recommending ONDA, the doctor pinches and measures the area to see how much of the fullness is fat that the device can reach and how much is loose skin or muscle. That assessment decides whether ONDA is the right tool or whether a different approach would give a more honest result.
How energy is planned and what it costs
Body ONDA is priced by total energy delivered, measured in kilojoules (KJ). Larger areas or thicker fat need more energy:
| Energy | Typical area | Price |
|---|---|---|
| 100KJ | Both upper arms or a small zone | ₩700,000 |
| 150KJ | Lower abdomen | ₩1,000,000 |
| 200KJ | Lower abdomen and flanks | ₩1,200,000 |
| 300KJ | Full abdomen or both thighs | ₩1,600,000 |
| 400KJ | Abdomen and flanks, larger frame | ₩2,000,000 |
| 500KJ | Several areas in one visit | ₩2,250,000 |
Prices in KRW, 10% VAT not included, updated September 2026. Area examples are typical; the doctor confirms the energy after examining you. See the Onda price page.
Other body options we may discuss
- Fat loss injections for smaller, well-defined pockets ( prices).
- Body ultrasound lifting with Ultherapy for skin laxity on the abdomen, arms or thighs.
- Body Pico Toning if darker skin on elbows, knees or underarms is also a concern.
What changes in the treated area
Changes are gradual: most people notice a smoother, slightly firmer area from around 4–6 weeks, with the fullest result at about 3 months. Weight changes affect the outcome, so a stable routine matters. For loose skin on the face rather than the body, see Onda lifting.
How a Body ONDA visit works
- Doctor consultation We assess fat thickness, skin laxity and your goals, then agree areas and energy.
- Marking The zones are marked and the skin is prepared; numbing is not usually needed.
- Microwave treatment 30–60 minutes per area with constant movement and surface cooling; you feel deep warmth.
- Aftercare advice Light massage guidance and hydration tips; you can return to normal activity.
Because changes appear over weeks, a single session during a Seoul visit can still be worthwhile; follow-up sessions are usually planned 3–4 weeks apart. Staying active and well hydrated afterwards may help the body clear treated fat.
Downtime, side effects and who should not have it
Body ONDA is non-invasive, but it delivers real heat to the fat layer:
- Common: redness, warmth and tenderness for a few hours to a few days; mild swelling.
- Less common: firm or lumpy areas, tingling or temporary numbness lasting 1–2 weeks; bruising.
- Rare: burns or blisters, prolonged nerve sensitivity, or uneven contour.
Not suitable, or tell the doctor first, if you
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Have a pacemaker, metal implants or an IUD near the treatment area
- Have had recent surgery, a hernia or an active infection in the area
- Have reduced sensation, bleeding disorders or take blood thinners
Aftercare
Drink plenty of water, avoid saunas and very hot baths for a few days and keep up regular movement. If you notice blistering or pain that is getting worse, contact us on WhatsApp.

Body ONDA FAQ
How much does Body ONDA cost in Gangnam?
At Bailor Clinic in Sinsa, Body ONDA starts at ₩700,000 for 100KJ and goes up to ₩2,250,000 for 500KJ, VAT excluded. See the Onda price list.
How many Body ONDA sessions will I need?
Some people are happy after one, but 2–4 sessions about 3–4 weeks apart are common for a more visible change. The doctor will suggest a plan for each area.
Does Body ONDA hurt?
Most people feel strong but tolerable deep warmth. The handpiece cools the skin, and the doctor can adjust the pace if it feels too hot.
Is Body ONDA a weight-loss treatment?
No. It is for reshaping specific areas in people close to a stable weight, not for reducing overall body weight.
Can I exercise after Body ONDA?
Yes, normal activity is usually fine the same day. Avoid saunas and hot baths for a few days while the area is warm or tender.
